Arab communities brought bitter orange trees to the Mediterranean, where climate and soil suited it to perfection. This precious plant was spread throughout the entire region, especially in Spain, where it still adorns the lanes and gardens of Seville.

King of France, Louis XIV, once built a garden with bitter orange trees in Versailles to enjoy the scent of its flowers during the spring season. Prince Nerola’s wife loved its fragrance so much that the oil of the orange blossom names after her, called Neroli.

Things will settle one day and it will be possible to travel again. Until then, MONTROI is happy to share the latest travel guide of Marrakech.
